Vaan Officially Announced



Yup, there you go. His EX-Burst is Mist Knack, his Alt costume is based off his concept art, and there seems to be our first look at Terra's 3rd form in-game in the screenshots. Hopefully a bigger/clearer scan will appear soon.

ETA: Did make out that his fighting style is based on rapidly changing weapons, so he'll probably play similiar to Firion and Bartz.

At last, they got him out of the way. His second Alt is lame, hope his third Alt will be the A2 design.

Still no idea what Terra is suppose to be wearing.

Saw that we posted at the same time. It is a little funny to watch the Japanese Twitter feed suddenly rush with "オイヨイヨ!" (Oiyoiyo, Vaan's nickname, after what he calls out when first meeting Ashe). I read scan wrong when I thought the alt was from FFXII:International. It's actually from some concept art. (I confused "Illustration" and "International" in my rush to post.)

Me neither... but that's the only person he could be talking to, even if I can't read the caption to confirm.

lol Nomura this being slavishly devoted to the Amano illustrations is getting ridiculous and I'm a fan of Amano. Amano's illustration of the FFXII is in black and white ... so his alt costume is in black and white.

Despite him having a perfectly good alt from FFTA2.

Admittedly, I'm just glad his reveal is out of the way. I don't think Vaan's the worst FF character ever, but he's just not that exciting.

Wonder if they'll throw us a bone and give us another XII character? Balthier makes me so weak at the knees.

I wonder if they're just gonna stick with one handed sword moves with him, or if he'll be able to use other weapons like spears and katanas and other weapons from the license board. I'm not gonna complain if he just has a katana though, he was a beast with it in my game x)

Thank god they finally confirmed him, now we can focus on someone else.

I do like the idea of his play style being Bartz-esque though. Bartz is my BABY.

i am hoping that Vaans sword, The Anastasia, will be his EX mode. thats the only ultimate weapon i like so far.

Like the first poster, my reaction was "at least he's out of the way." That twitter thing spoiled the fun of the character reveal, IMO. I hope the next character gets revealed by a scan/trailer, not a random comment months in advance.

His portrait looks rather unfortunate. I know the scan is LQ, but where is the other side of his face? It's not a proper full profile like Kain's portrait, just odd, like his right eye has disappeared. And he's so gloomy! We could do with another happy(ish) expression in addition to Zidane and Tifa.

I'm curious about Terra's costume. Is it purple?

Ditto-ing the 'that's kinda disappointing' -- they seemed so committed to having more girls this time around, it would have been the perfect opportunity to slip Fran in there and move her into the main archer slot given that Firion's getting an overhaul.

Still, I agree with what others have said about 'thank goodness that's out of the way': hopefully the next bit of Dissidia-news will be something that none of us saw coming that knocks us all flat! ^__________^

I'm glad Vaan's official than a speculation. The artwork again is kinda feminine-ish. XD (I was expecting a cheerful looking artwork though...) I'm excited about his interaction with Tina. Penelo much? XD I still hope for Vayne, coz his EX Mode will be badass, but thinking about alternate costumes....

Hope the new characters roster will exceed 5~! Chaos side this time.

with 4-10 characters being chosen, we could end up getting 5 heroes and 5 villains

if yuna and shadow lord are chosen, that menas all 5 heros and the first of 5 villains would be announced
